ID&T, the brains behind Sensation, Tomorrowland, TomorrowWorld, and Q-Dance are set to bring us another treat stateside. Mysteryland is set to be held Memorial Day weekend 2014 at Bethel Woods in upstate New York, which is the original site of the Woodstock festival. Duncan Stutterheim, the CEO of ID&T, says that as an event organizer, they see “the similarities between the great demonstration of community and peace that was Woodstock, and the current culture of electronic music festivals. Differences between peoples simply disappear at our festivals.” If you’ve never made it all the way to the Netherlands for the world’s longest running electronic music festival then you’re probably wondering what it’s all about. Well, Mysteryland may have sold 60,000 tickets last year but that doesn’t mean it’s all about the headliners; in fact it’s quite the opposite. Since the beginning Mysteryland has taken a multi-faceted approach providing guest with experiences beyond loud music and massive main stages, including things like music combined with theater, movies, interactive installation art, street performers, and spectacular shows at bizarre decorated stages. Also with the spirit of this being something unique and special they only plan to sell 20,000 tickets for the first U.S. installment of the fest. With that in mind you might want to head to their website where you can register to stay up to date and be able to purchase a ticket (more details to come). Mysteryland has always been an innovator, even in Europe, so it should be a no-brainer as to this being something you won’t want to miss. Check out the short movie below on this years fest and check the links at the bottom for more details and to stay up to date!
