*Artist of the Week* Monsieur Monsieur

For our artist of the week we have new masters of Electro/Techno from Reims, France, Monsieur Monsieur. They recently signed to Bromance Records and their single “Arym” was included on the most recent Bromance EP #5. This duo decided to make their own sound so as to stand out from the many talented artist also from France, ala Daft Punk and Ed Banger Records. They are truly making strides and making a name for themselves and we’re glad to present them as Artist of the Week.

Interview with Monsieur Monsieur on their recent single out on Bromance Records and a little bit about them as artists. I had trouble finding any information about you guys so please start by telling us a little bit about you.

We are Monsieur Monsieur two French produceur and DJ from Reims. We are signed on Bromance records.

How did you get started in music?

We both had our music legacy from our parents. Then we get in electronic music when we were around 17. We first went to the first electronic music parties in Reims called Bonheure Binaire and the Festival Elektricity run by Guilhem Simbille today (it was created by Yuksek).

Tell us a little bit about your production process. What goes into a track and how do you go about making it?

We always maintain the highest standards in our production process. We spend most of our timing finding the perfect groove and at the end we really work on the mix and master of our track. We are making the frequencies and the master in order to be played in club.

What drives you as producers and DJ’s? What keeps you going?

Music is keeping us going, we are really craving music.

Do you feel that being from France that all the great music around you (Daft Punk, Ed Banger Records,etc.) has influenced you? Or has it driven you to try and make your own unique sound so that you stand out?

It had influenced us to work on our own sound. They had their sound, we spent a lot of time to find our sound. As we always say ‘’When you try to imitate something you just kill your own creativity”.

When your not producing, what kind of music do you listen to?

We are listening to screw music, hip hop, Rnb, Reggae. We are only listening music we like.

If you had to describe your music in three words, what would those be?

Dark / Techno / Pure

Any big plans coming up soon? Maybe some collaborations with other DJ’s? Another EP possibly?

We are working on remix and for a new EP for 2013. But we haven’t any collaborations for the moment.
