Oh mannnn. Our boy Nexus, creator of the ever popular Brain Candy, has a new tune for us! He calls this one Pink Robots, and it’s a glitchy concoction with plenty of wobbles and bass to satisfy any bass head out there. The synths are superb, as we’ve come to expect from this guy, as are the effects he uses, the drums, the melodies- they all come together to form quite a beautiful track that goes hard. In addition to the original version, Nexus had multiple remixes submitted, and landed on four EPIC ones. You have remixes from Bassex, Distantt, our boy TYR, and Big Makk. They each show a little different piece of this track, and really bring out all the sensational sounds that Nexus provides in the original. Check out all of them below, and look out for the full EP dropping on October 23rd under Temple Music Group! Enjoy!
Bonus:
We got the chance to briefly talk with Nexus about the upcoming EP. Check out a quick interview about the release below!
How’d you get started working on Pink Robots?
I started Pink Robots at around 6 am after I finished my previous single Brain Candy. I pretty much completed everything but “the grimy drop that comes toward the end of the song”. I decided to put it on the back burner for a bit because I wanted to send it over to my friend Chris Hurst to finish the job. We really took our time on this one and made sure it was perfect for release.
What inspired the name?
It represents Nexus bringing a “poppy” feel to EDM.
How did you select the artist remixes for your EP?
I wanted to pick artists that share a similar influence to the sound I went for on this song.
This track is a little more bass oriented than your last, what brought about the change in sound?
One thing that I really want to accomplish with this project is producing a variety of sounds that all fit the “Nexus Vibe”.
What can we expect next from Nexus?
Right now, I’m in the process of writing my first album. We’re shooting for releasing in 2013. I’m really excited about the sounds and the variety of bass.
