Hope you’re having a good Fri-Day. Got some tunes to show you from some amazing artists, enjoy.
Tiësto is the artist you all know. Personally, Tiësto is the artist that gave me direction in the EDM scene. His tracks ranged from everything in Trance to House. Thanks to him I really began to understand the differences between genres and get a good starting point for what I liked to hear. Some things you may not know about him, he was the opening act for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and his In Search of Sunrise albums are legendary for electronic music artists all over. Deadmau5 got his start from Tiësto when he released Arguru on In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza. Months later I recall seeing Deadmau5 all over posters, I could see and feel Tiësto’s influence on the genre. Today, Tiësto has become highly commercial in his appeal and is by far the most profitable DJs in the world right now. His ability to transcend genres with his classic work is something that all EDM artists should look up to and probably already do.

Along with Derrick May and Juan Atkins, Saunderson has become known as one of the fathers of techno. The sound the three developed as a variant of house music was dubbed Techno when Atkins first coined the term. He temporarily quit while studying for a degree and playing football, but then returned to the scene as a producer instead of a DJ. His releases on Atkins’ label eventually allowed him to start his project as Inner City. As Inner City he sold as many as 6 million albums in Europe. His first hit, Big Fun, was released on a Virgin Records album called Techno- The New Dance Sound of Detroit. That propelled his music and his influence into and elite category of artists.

DJ Craze also known as the only DJ in history to have won the DMC World Championships three times in a row in 1998, 1999, and 2000. He has held an incredible influence in the increasing popularity of bass music in the EDM scene due to his incredible turntable skills. Since then Craze, has been doing it all. Producing tracks, continuing turntablism, and starting his own label. His label with Kill The Noise is distributed by A-Trak and Nick Catchdub’s label Fool’s Gold Records and even filled in for A-Trak on Kanye’s Glow in the Dark Tour. Lately, he has become Yelawolf’s DJ and performs with him live. Look out for his rapid rise to the top as the man responsible for creating a huge amount of interest for EDM through bass music rooted in hip-hop and Latin beats.
