Welcome back to another installment of Progressive Saturdays here on MYN, and what a week it has been! After long wait Markus Schulz has released his latest album under his name since Do You Dream in 2010. Scream, a massive 23 track album features collaborations from many great trance producers and talented folks over at Markus’ Coldharbour Recordings. Featured collaborators include Ferry Corsten, Elevation, KhoMha, Mr. Pitt, Dennis Sheperd, and Arnej to name a few. The album also features a many great vocal tracks featuring vocalist such as Adina Butar, Aruna, Jaren, Sarah Howells, Ana Diaz, and Seri. Honestly I’ve been incredibly excited for the release of this album all year. Markus has really nailed down his style in the past couple years resulting in a very dark, heavy, progressive trance that is very distinct and unique. Great rhythms and driving melodies instantly hook the listeners and its a style I really enjoy. The releases from Coldharbour Recordings have reflected this style, and the accumulation of great producers who share a similar artistic vision have really added great new tracks to Schulz’ DJ sets and also resulted in very many outstanding collaborations and remixes. This album is a culmination of years of work putting together a Label capable of releasing such a sound, and the end result is great.
The album itself is massive, I’ve listened to it once through already and am halfway through my second listen and it really does get better the more you listen and find those tracks that really speak to you. This is Trance, its meant to strike emotion, so I suggest finding a great spot to relax and enjoy the whole album! A few of the tracks on the album have been previously released as singles, such as Loops & Tings, Caught, and Go!, but its great to hear tracks you already know and enjoy. With that said there are a ton of great new tracks to discover! So here are many of the tracks from the album, it was very hard for me not to put every single one on here, but I’ll leave you with some incentive to go out and get the album, its worth it!
