The Milk *New Video* The Milk Picking Up The Pieces ft. Idris Elba

The Milk, a Black Keys sounding band from the UK, have a new track with some dope vocals from Idris Elba called Picking Up the Pieces. Idris’ vocals are heavy and deep, while the lead singer’s are screechy and yet rich to make an awesome combo. The track has lots of piano riffs, some guitar riffs, and a sweet drum line. The video is just of the artists jamming in the studio, but damn does it look fun. See below for a little on how this collaboration formed, and of course watch the video! Enjoy!

“The Milk reached out to Idris shortly after they were signed to Sony, hoping that he’d deliver a rap/monologue for a track on their debut album, ‘Picking Up the Pieces’. Idris obviously made his name as Stringer Bell in The Wire or Luther for the BBC, but was most recently seen in Prometheus (and is now rumoured to be playing Mandela). Still, he was such a fan of the track that he agreed, and the video that’s just been released captures their one-take live session in Dean Street Studios. The recorded version appears on the band’s forthcoming album, ‘Tales From The Thames Delta’ (due out September 3 in the UK), which is already picking up some really nice bits.”
