Hey everyone, welcome back to another edition of Tipsy Tree Thursdays! This week I’m featuring the Italian DJ, producer, and remixer Ricky Castelli. Ricky started DJing when he was 17 and has continued to improve his craft for nearly 16 years now. He also produces high quality music. He focuses mostly on house music with a particular specialty of Electro House.
Ricky’s latest track is a preview of an upcoming rework of Zombie Nation’s Kernkraft 400 titled simply Zombie Nation. It’s a collaboration with Fred Dope and it takes one of the most well-known songs in EDM history and gives it a 2012 feel. As expected, the drop at a minute in is a pure rush. Give the preview a listen below and check out the track in its entirety when it’s released in September.
Ricky makes mashups bootlegs as well. His latest one is a bootleg of Afrojack’s Rock the House and Sub Focus’s Rock It. These two songs are made for each other. I love the intensity created by Afrojack and how they overlaid Rock It on top of it like vocals. This is a huge bootleg and is available for download, so grab it while it’s hot.
Looking for some more deep house tracks? Ricky Castelli and Damian Klang have a remix for you then. It’s a remix of Madame Betty’s You and it’s such a groove! I love how elegant this track is. The vocals are kept to a minimum I really like what they did at around 3:30 in the track. It adds some zing into the remix. Check out the preview below and jump to Beatport if you want to buy it.
Ricky also has a monthly radio show. Last month’s is available. The radio show is similar to mine in that it doesn’t really have much of a theme besides being house music. It goes from progressive house to disco house, to electro house and back. Give it a listen next time you’re at the gym!
Thanks for checking out this edition of Tipsy Tree Thursdays. As always, remember to give some love to Ricky below and I’ll see you next Thursday!
