DJ Sneak
DJ Sneak is a House DJ from Chicago who has been spinning since 1994. Sneak moved from Puerto Rico to Chicago leaving his roots in salsa and meringue music. When he discovered house music, he slowly grew from being a small-time DJ focusing on his productions through his record label, Defiant. He got his break in 1994, when he met Green Velvet/Cajmere. Cajmere released his tracks on his record label, Relief Records, and he achieved international success. DJ Sneak is part of the class of DJs who seek to make the art of DJing a cutting-edge musical experience. His criticism of Swedish House Mafia has roots in the sentiment of his brand of musical production which puts the music first. Sneak has a disdain for the visual aspect of the performance because the standard used to judge a DJ’s quality in his time was simply the track selection and technical prowess. Andy C
For the past few weeks a lot of focus has been placed on house music because it has grown faster than any genre of EDM. It also has been around the longest and by virtue of its long history, it has a longer list of veterans. Seeing as how house music is not the only genre of electronic music to have gained extreme popularity within the past 15 years, its only fair we branch out a little. Andy C is a drum and bass legend because he has basically created the genre along with a few other key players. He started his own record label, RAM in 1992 and has been spreading the genre across the globe. Andy C is still the highest ranking drum and bass DJ in the DJ Magazines’ Top 100 and has won the top DJ ranking in the drum and bass awards the past two years. As this genre continues to get bigger and gain popularity, this DJ is going to be the standard for quality drum and bass.
