Hey everyone, welcome back to another edition of Tipsy Tree Thursdays! This week features the producer team 0SM! 0SM the brainchild of two LA residents, Chris and Ben. They have been producing, making, and releasing music since 2000, but not always with EDM. They started out in multiple rock bands and decided to start work on EDM in the last few years. 0SM is active in the LA scene. They like attending Dim Mak Tuesdays, Danceism’s Versus, and GDD’s Control. While DJing, they use Ableton or CDJs depending on what mood they’re in. For producing, they prefer Reaper. Their originals tend to have a dubstep or drumstep feel to it, so get ready to have your face melted off!
0SM have a brand new track today, Phaserz to Stun, that features vocalist Alex G. Alex guides the listener throughout this space voyage and the engine is ran by some fantastic drum work and catchy melody. This track flies by! Every time I listen the four minutes evaporates. Check it out below!
The track that turned me onto 0SM is titled The Landing. It also features vocals by Alex G. This track is excellent! The melody is uplifting and the vocals give it an ominous feel that gives the track real emotion. The Landing is a very technical track. There is a lot going on and it synergies seamlessly. When asked about if they learned anything during the production of this track, 0SM mentioned that they learned a lot about recording vocals and mentioned that Alex G. is a pleasure to work with. She dealt with them trying different harmonies and in my opinion, the result is perfect. Free download, check out below.
Another track by 0SM is Ultrasaur. It’s tagged as “pwnstep”, but I’m not sure what genre to really classify it under. It’s definitely has an overall house feel to it with a soaring synth that gives it almost a Balearic feel to it. Regardless of genre, I love this track. Ultrasaur tells five minute thirty second story and is very entertaining to listen to. Free download, check it out below!
The last track featured today is The Biggest Lizard. I really enjoy how multi genre this track is. It has a dubstep basis and it has everything from the wub’s you’d expect, Spanish guitars, hard rock guitars, and laser like synths. This track has everything and forces you to bob your head. Plus, it has a biggest lizard vocal drop that you won’t hear anywhere else. Check out the free download below.
0SM has a lot of releases in the pipeline! They have a new dirty original coming out this week titled Phaserz to Stun that also features Alex G.
