I would like to introduce you all to an up and coming Scottish producer Russel Whyte who goes by the name of Rustie. I don’t know much about him but what’s important is that he make some damn good music and it’s really hard for me or really anybody at the moment to describe what genre it falls under. I’ve seen it described as “digital maximalism” but the best way to explain it is that he takes a lot of different sounds and masterfully combines them to make something fantastic. Better put, just take a listen because trying to fit him into a genre is just stupid! He recently dropped his first full album titled Glass Swords and as of last month took to the decks at BBC Radio 1 to do an Essential Mix, and needless to say he absolutely blew me away. I’ll shutup and let you decide for yourself whether he has the musical talent that I just can’t put into words.
